Watch RZ Construction restore power to a Mobil 7-Eleven sign
Project Details
When a gas station’s sign simply stops displaying gas prices, it’s going to quickly affect gas sales. So when our customer called about a sign not working at one of their 7-Eleven/Mobil gas station locations, RZ acted fast by running a few tests to identify the problem. And while some loose wires were found and tightened, the bigger issue at hand actually stemmed from a collapsed pipe underground. Clearly, we knew we needed to work quickly by getting an approved proposal for repairs, coordinating with Julie, applying for permits, and lining up an asphalt vendor.
On the day of delivery, the demolition started early by saw cutting and removing the old blacktop. Once the rubble was cleared, the Chicago Asphalt crew began trenching and removing the old collapsed pipe. Meanwhile… during the trenching process, RZ’s Electricians started prepping the breaker box, the sign, and the new pipes.
After the trench reached the appropriate depth and was approved by the Village Inspector, RZ’s Electricians started bending, laying, and connecting the new pipes extending from the store to the sign. And once in place, the asphalt crew started prepping for the paving process by backfilling and compacting the trench.
Once the area was cleaned and ready, Chicago Asphalt completed the new paving while RZ’s Electricians pulled the wires and made the final connections. Needless to say, the project went smoothly and power was restored to the new sign.
Needless to say… RZ is proud to have been able to be part of this project and thanks Chicago Asphalt for a job well done.
